Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research invites applications for its Project Oriented Chemical Education and Project Oriented Biological Education Programmes from Indian students presently studying in the 1st year of the three years B.Sc programme. Eligibility:

POCE:

Project Oriented Chemical Education (POCE) is only for students studying in first year of three years BSc program (preferably with PCM combination).

The total number of Fellowships offered will be up to 10. Selected students will be given an opportunity to involve in programmes such as lectures, laboratory projects and research. The programme will be conducted during summer vacation for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. A scholarship of Rs. 6000/- per month will be provided. Students selected are expected to work at the Centre for three such consecutive summers. Where possible, students will be allowed to work in the Centre during mid-semester vacations as well. Specialization in advanced materials will be possible during the last year. After the successful completion of the programme at the end of 3 years, the students will a receive a Diploma in Chemistry from the Centre.

Those who complete the POCE programme with outstanding performance will be eligible for admission to the MS / PhD programme of the Centre subject to satisfactory performance in the interview.

POBE:

Only the students who are studying in first year of three years BSc program (preferably having Biology as one of the subjects) can apply for POBE.

Selected students are exposed to the concepts and methodologies driving integrative research in biology today, through a combination of lectures, laboratory projects and research. The programme will be conducted during the summer vacation for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. The total number of Fellowships offered will be up to 10. Scholarship of Rs. 6000/- per month will be provided. Students selected are expected to work at the Centre for three consecutive periods. After the successful completion of the programme at the end of 3 years, the students will a receive a diploma in Biology from the Centre. Where possible, students will be allowed to work in the Centre during mid-semester vacations as well. Specialization in a more focused area or research will be possible during the second and third years.

Those who complete the POBE programme with outstanding performance will be eligible for admission to the MS / PhD programme of the Centre subject to satisfactory performance in the interview.

Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR), Pune has invited applications to admission to PGDM Course of 2013-14.

The admission through Institutional seats would include scrutiny of received applications and group discussion and personal interview on campus. A merit list will be declared after the selection process.

Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad has invited applications for admission to two year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme with dual specialization in the following disciplines during Academic Year 2013-14.

ELIGIBILITY

a) The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science or an equivalent degree with Mathematics/Economics as one of the subjects in the qualifying examination, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (this may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed-to-be University under the UGC Act, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. 

b) The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case a candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. 

c) Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. However, marks sheet of qualifying examination must be submitted to the office of Dean (Academic) on or before the first week of September 2013. 

d) Applicants should note that the mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by the Institute. 

Note: This Institute uses CAT Score for short-listing the candidates for its full time two years MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. 

e) Applicants must have appeared in CAT -2012. 

Reservation

As per the Government of India requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to the "non-creamy" layer. For an updated list of state-wise OBCs eligible for availing the benefit of resrvation, please visit the list maintained by the NCBC at its website http://ncbc.nic.in/backward-classes/index.html. You may also access information in respect to the creamy layer at http://ncbc.nic.in/Creamylayer.html. In case of NC-OBC category, the caste included in the Central List of NC-OBC by the National Council of Backward Classes, Government of India as on February 22, 2013 (Last date of submitting application form) will be used. Any subsequent changes will not be effective for admission. 

As per the provision under Section 39 of the PWD Act, 1995, 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates. The three categories of disability are: (a) Low-vision/blindness, (b) hearing impairment, and (c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy. This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disabilities to the extent of not less than 40%, as certified by a medical authority as prescribed and explained in the said Act. 

Application:

Eligible candidates are required to fill the online Application Form by clicking REGISTER button given on right side.

There are three steps in online application:

Step 1: Register by filling-in your personal details and click submit button.

Step 2: Generate challan for payment of application fee. A challan of Power Jyoti Scheme of State Bank of India will be generated after filling personal details.

Take print out of the challan. It will consist of three copies: Candidate's copy, Bank's copy and Institute copy. Fill in the challan and deposit the required application fee (Rs. 1200/- for OC and OBC candidates and Rs. 600/- for SC / ST candidates) at nearest branch of State Bank of India. Bank will return Candidate's copy and Institute copy of the challan with a Journal number. Please be sure that this Journal number is written very clearly.

Step 3: Fill Journal number provided by bank in the online application form and take print out of the online filled application form. Send the signed copy of the print out of online filled-in application form along with the Institute copy of the challan to "Admission Cell, Office of the Dean (Academic), Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad – 211004". Please write clearly on the envelop "Application for MBA Programme, Session: 2013-2014".

Selection:

Candidates will be short listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) on the basis of CAT percentile. Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted at the Institute. Final selection will be made on the basis of CAT percentile and marks obtained in Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
