Pitru Pujan Divas vs Valentine's
Day: Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is celebrated on 14th February in each year. On this day
lovers give valentine cards, gifts and red flowers to their valentines. But on
the same day i.e. on 14th Feb , 2013 Sant Shri Asharam ji Bapu announced to celebrate this day as “Parents Worship Day” to
increase the mutual respect and love between parents and their children. Almost all politicians, celebrities
and most of the people welcomed his opinion to celebrate the Valentine’s Day as
Parents Worship Day. This day is
also named as Matru- Pitru Pujan Divas or Parent’s Appreciation Day.
According to Bapu Ji, true love and true valentine must
be our parents. We need to do worship of our parent’s on 14th Feb. Parents Worship Day, is inspired to celebrate from the poojan of Lord Shiva and Maa
Parvati performed by little Ganpati.
BJP President Mr. Rajnath Singh commented that Parents
Worship Day will increase good manners among children's.
Bollywood Actor Govinda said that Every Day Parents Should be Worshipped But
Specially 14 February.
How to Celebrate Matri Pitri Pujan Divas?
1.
Firstly make parents sit on a clean and
high seat. Now put a mark of vermillion, tilak on their parents’ foreheads. Then
offer flowers and put a garland of flowers around their neck. Parent’s should
also do the same as tilak on the forehead of their children put flowers on this
children head and put the garlands from their neck to their children neck.
2.
Now children should light a lamp and do
arati as they do for God. Now sprinkle unbroken rice and flowers on their
Parent’s head and vice versa.

At last children must circumambulate their
parents seven times.
4.
The children should take this pious
resolve: “I will respect my parents and teachers. It is my duty to abide by
their orders which direct me on the path to greatness and I shall certainly
follow them.”
5.
At this point parents should give their
loving blessings to their children.
6.
The children should give sweet prasad to
their parents and parents should also do the same.
