Manipal University Online Entrance Test
Medical/Engg/Pharmacy UG Admissions 2013-2014
Applications can be submitted for the Manipal University Online Entrance Test for admission to the MBBS, BDS, BTech, BPharm, PharmD courses at Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka, for 2013-14 till 11th March, 2013. The Computer based online test will be held between 15.04.2013 and 15.05.2013 as per the time slot and centre chosen by the applicants through the Online Test Booking System.
The eligibility for the different Courses offered is as follows.
MBBS/BDS: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Only those candidates who get at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test, 2013, for MBBS/BDS will be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
B.Tech: Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology or any technical vocational subject as optional subject with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subject.
B.Arch: A pass in 10+2 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects or three year Diploma after 10 years schooling (any stream) recognized by the Central/State Government with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects. Applicant should have secured 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. Applicant should also have secured 40% marks in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.
B Pharm: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology as optional subjects. Those who have passed 10+2 from National Open School are not eligible for admission to B.Pharm Course.
Pharm. D: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects/DPharm or any other equivalent qualification approved by Pharmacy Council of India. Those who have passed 10+2 from National Open School are not eligible for admission to Pharm. D Course.
Selection Procedure: For Admission to the MBBS/BDS/BTech/ BPharm/PharmD courses, admission will be based on the rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2013 as applicable for the courses concerned.
Only those candidates who get 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test, 2013, for MBBS/BDS will be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. Few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Government of Karnataka.
For B.Arch, admissions will be based on the marks in the qualifying Examination and NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture considered with equal weightage. Those desirous of B Arch admission have to apply for NATA separately. For details of NATA, visit www.nata.in  
Test dates and Centres: The Manipal University Online Entrance Test 2013 (MU-OET 2013) for MBBS, BDS, BTech, BPharm, PharmD will be held between 15.04.2013 and 15.05.2013 at Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Allahabad, Asansol, Bangalore, Belgaum, Bhillai, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dubai, Ernakulam, Gangtok, Ganjam, Gulbarga, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madhurai, Mangalore, Manipal, Meerut, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Panjim, Patna, Portblair, Pune, Ranchi, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Vizag.
The number of examination days will be estimated based on the total number of applications received for the particular group of courses and test centre choices given by the candidates in the application. The Application fee of Rs. 600/- and Entrance test fee of Rs. 1000/- can be paid through Credit Card/Net Banking or Demand Draft. Instructions for filling the application are available at the link. Application and Prospectus can be downloaded from www.manipal.edu/Admissions/IndianAdmissions/Pages/HowtoApply.aspx.  Applicant should print the application form, complete it in all respects and send it to Admissions Office along with the Demand Draft for the amount  which should be inclusive of Application fee of Rs. 600/- and Entrance test fee (if applicable)  of Rs. 1000/-, drawn in favour of ‘Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi. Application forms can also be purchased from selected branches of State Bank of India as per the list given at http://www.manipal.edu/Admissions/IndianAdmissions/Banks/Pages/Welcome.aspx  by paying the required application fee.
Application material can also be obtained by Post from Director, Admissions, Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka-576104, by sending a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- drawn in the name of Manipal University, payable at Manipal or Udupi. Applicants can apply for MBBS, BDS, B Pharm and Pharm D in the same application. Similarly, applicants can apply for B.Tech, B Pharm and Pharm D in the same application.
The last date for receipt of the completed application at Manipal University with necessary documents along with the DD/Cahllan for the applicable amount drawn on ‘Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi is 11.03.2013.
Slot Booking: Applicants will get the facility to select the Test Centre and Test Schedule of their choice through the Online Test Booking System between 21.03.2013 and 28.03.2013. Online Test booking system is a web based online scheduling system available at www.admissions.manipal.edu.
Applicants will have the facility to book the test schedule at the centre, date and time of their choice. The booking of schedule is done on first-come-first-served basis and is subject to availability. Applicants are required to book their slots in www.manipalotbs.com  during 21.03.2013 to 28.03.2013. The online test booking system will allow the candidate to book a slot only in this time frame.
The online test booking password is required for the purpose of booking a schedule using online test booking system & to download e-hall ticket from the website. The Online Test Booking Password will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail ID given in the application form, sufficiently in advance. The Password must be kept confidential.
The e-hall ticket will be generated 24 hours after the candidate has booked his/her schedule through the online test booking system. The e-hall ticket will be issued for only those candidates who book a slot using the online test booking system before the booking end date for respective courses as per the booking schedule. The e-hall ticket will indicate the e-hall ticket number, course/s applied, address of the test centre, test date & time selected by the candidate. Discrepancies, if any, must be brought to the notice of the University at the earliest.
The e-hall ticket will be made available on www.manipalotbs.com   . Candidate should provide the application form number and online test booking password to download the e-hall ticket. The copy of the e-hall ticket will also be emailed to the candidate. The e-hall ticket will not be dispatched to candidates via post or fax.
Candidates should take two print outs of the e-hall ticket using the print option on A4 size paper only. No candidate will be permitted to appear for the test without a valid e-hall ticket. It must be preserved and produced at the time of counselling/admission.
On the day of examination, applicant should report to the selected test centre with the two copies of the e-hall ticket, one photocopy of the application form and any one of Passport/Driving License/EC Voter ID card/IT PAN card or School/College photo-bearing ID card for photo identification.
Test Scheme for MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm & Pharm.D (Group I) (eligibility PCB): The test will of two and a half hours duration and will consist of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type.  The approximate number of questions from different subjects will be as follows. Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Biology - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.
B.Tech, B.Pharm & Pharm.D (Group II) (eligibility PCM): The test will of two and a half hours duration and will consist of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The approximate number of questions from different subjects will be as follows.  Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Mathematics - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.
Those desirous of writing the entrance Test with Biology as a subject should opt for Group I (MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm and Pharm D). Those desirous of writing Entrance Test with Mathematics as a subject should opt for Group II (B.tech, B Pharm and Pharm D)
The test papers in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and General English will have questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities. Detailed syllabus is available at the website.
Online Entrance Test: In the Computer based Online entrance test, the candidate sits in front of the computer and the questions are presented on the monitor. The candidate has to submit his/her answers through the use of mouse. The computer is connected to the server, which delivers the test, in real time through a reliable connectivity. The final score will be displayed on the test screen immediately after the completion of the test.  A demo of the Online Entrance Test is available at the website.
The questions appearing on the screen will be in English. All questions will be of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ type). Each MCQ will consist of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement and four responses labelled A, B, C and D. One of the four responses only is the correct or most appropriate answer. Candidates must choose the correct or most appropriate answer by clicking on the button next to the answer. Candidates can navigate freely through the questions. All rough work should be done in the paper/s supplied in the Test Centre. No paper/s should be taken to the test hall for this purpose.
Each question carries one mark. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. The wrong answer or unanswered questions will receive no (positive/negative) mark. The final score will be displayed in the test screen immediately after the test. The candidate should acknowledge the score in the print out of the score card in the presence of the invigilator.
For B Arch, the last date for receipt of filled application is 10.5.2013. Attested photocopy of 10+2/Diploma mark card and NATA score card should reach by 10.6.2013. Application number should be written on the top right corner of the photocopy.
